Time's been flying by! We've been keeping busy this first month of 2009. Lauren has started swim lessons and as you can see she really enjoys it. Cassie and BJ have gone up to Eaglecrest three times now, Cassie has wrapped up her lessons just today and will be ready to hit the big slopes next week.

We rearranged our house a bit this weekend. We decided to move Lauren's crib back into her bedroom, kicking Cassie out into the living room. Actually, Cassie is OK with the change. Besides, it will only be a few months before we move back. Hopefully, this will allow Lauren to sleep through the night better, lets hope so!
Lauren's play area has been relocated. She does not seem to mind the change.

Also, we've had several nice times with friends. Nate and Sarah Geary (with kids) came over on Friday Night. On Saturday Ashley, Cassie and Lauren had a girls luncheon at the Sand Piper Restuarant. They got the chance to catch up with friends and had a great time. Last night we visited BJ's coworker's house and played board games, it was great.

BJ has received two job offers so far, one in Lincoln and one in Omaha. We're awaiting several more proposals this week, and the final few should arrive around mid-February. We are attempting to quantify the various factors going into our final decision such as location, living costs, etc. Definitely an exciting time in our lives!

Lauren is working on cutting her second tooth. She's crawling everywhere and can pull herself up in a hurry. Cassie and Lauren have a great time at baby group each week. They interact with many other babies and talk about various baby topics. They also enjoy their weekly lunch with Ashley.

Till we chat again,

Happy New Year!

Ashley, Lauren, Cassie, B.J. and family after the Gator Bowl.

We had a great trip back to Nebraska. We spent Christmas Eve flying back home. We had just 20 minutes in Seattle and barely made it to the plane after racing from one end of the airport to the other! We arrived at home early on Christmas Day jet lagged, but excited to see the family.

Christmas went great with all of the family. We spent plenty of time with everyone, including B.J.'s paternal grandma who recently moved back to Nebraska. We had a big New Year's get together at Ashley's parents house, and got to go out to dinner for both of our parents anniversaries. Also, we had a fun time watching the Huskers on New Years Day.

Little Lauren has cut her first tooth! Surprisingly she only seemed cranky about it for a day or so, but its definitely coming in now. She has mastered sitting by herself, and continues to army crawl and roll around the floor. Lauren was so good with the family, always in a good mood and giving everyone who held her a big smile. She definitely made this Christmas very special.

B.J. had seven job interviews in Lincoln and Omaha. They all seemed to go very well, with one company wanting to hire him next week! We've asked for employment proposals by the end of February, so we should know where and when we're moving back to Nebraska by early March.

Now that we are back in Juneau we're gearing up to go skiing next weekend. We've had over 2 feet of snow the past week and half and the snow keeps coming down. Cassie is going to start her skiing lessons, and B.J. is going to switch from snowboarding to skiing.

Here's a clip of Lauren getting in the crawl position all by herself. It looks like she will be mobile before you know it!

Current Stats

So we went to see Lauren's doctor a week and a half ago, and she is growing like a weed. She's currently 28 inches long (97th percentile), 16 lbs 11 oz (50th percentile). She is long and skinny like her Dad. She had a great checkup, and only cried a little bit when she got her shots. I can't believe how big she is getting. Right now she is on my lap, asleep on the boppy, and it's just the most peaceful thing in the world.

Well enough sappy stuff from me, it's time to go to bed.

Thanksgiving with Friends

Lauren taking a snooze in her jumparoo, while watching the Macy's parade. This was too cute to pass up!!

We celebrated Thanksgiving this year at Nate and Sarah's, with many friends. There was some great food, lots of chatter, and plenty of preparations for shopping early Friday morning.

Brotherhood Bridge Trail

Last weekend we took an hour walk around the Brotherhood Bridge trail area. It was nice getting out and exercising, it was cold but at least it wasn't raining!

Lauren all bundled up and ready to go (she fell asleep a few minutes later)
